When it comes to skincare, wellness and hanging with her dog, Kassie’s got plenty to share. We sat down with NBB’s newest team member to find out what makes this esthetician tick.
Kassie, in the time you’ve been in the skincare industry, what are some of the biggest advancements you’ve seen?
There are so many options now for non-invasive ways to improve the skin – facials and facial treatments have come a long way due to improvements in the types of active ingredients that are being used in professional products as well as ingredient delivery systems.
Walk us through your personal skincare routine.
Oh boy…well, in the AM, I cleanse, then I follow with a vitamin C serum, eye cream, moisturizer and SPF. PM I cleanse, using LaFlore’s Probiotic Cleanser, then use an eye cream, and a moisturizer. Three times per week I use a mask of some sort and exfoliate. My go-to’s are masks with vitamin C, hyaluronic acid or charcoal.
What is the one thing you do every day no matter what else is going on in your life and why do you do it?
I make sure I tell my husband I love him every morning before work or leaving the house and every evening just before bed. It sounds silly I know but you never know what can happen in life.
What are your thoughts on “wellness” as an increasingly mainstream word and concept? What does it mean to you personally?
I think wellness encompasses both internal health (diet, fluid intake) and external health, (exercise, work life balance, how you handle stress, etc.)
As a whole, if your mind isn’t in good health the rest of you suffers. For me, wellness is always a daiy choice – like food, meditation or physical health. The mainstream use of the word “wellness” is a good thing because more people are understanding you have to make time for yourself and do things for you so everyone around you can thrive.
What do you think makes the biggest change in someone’s overall skin health?
If you use the right skincare, get regular facials and a stick to healthy diet and exercise routine you cannot go wrong.
What things in your life are you grateful for?
Way too many!! My husband, my dog, family, friends, co-workers, my home, my jobs, being alive. having an awesome support system, my current and future clients, running water, an abundant food supply, the list goes on and on…
OK, last but not least, if you could be any animal in the world, what animal would you be and why?
A kangaroo because they are martial arts experts!
